Jorja & Autumn!

Autumn Giving Autumn a home

My Mom and I visited the Cochrane Humane Society on a rainy Wednesday just curious to see how many rabbits where there for adoption. In a cage, with the name tag of Autumn was a beautiful lop ear bunny. I went over to her cage and called her name and she instantly hopped right over to see me. She also had a sign on her cage that said she was not ready for adoption because they were using her for the summer camps because she was such a snuggle bunny and so easy for the kids to hold. They told me that Autumn was found abandoned on the streets of Calgary and while she snuggled in my arms, I knew right away that I wanted to rescue her and give her a loving home with me, Oreo, Biscuit and the Rabbit Hopping club. My Mom told me that I would have to get my Dad to agree to another bunny, so we left the Humane Society and went home to wait for Dad to get home from work. Over suppertime I talked with my Dad and he agreed to come and look at her. We went back to the Humane Society in the evening and as soon as my Dad saw Autumn, he agreed that we could give her the perfect home. Once we applied for the adoption and the Humane Society learned about our work with the Rabbit Hopping Club, they also agreed that Autumn would be great as part of our family and they agreed to let us adopt her. She has fit in so well in our family and is already friends with Oreo. Her first event was at the Carewest Auxiliary where she snuggled on everyone's laps and brought smiles to a lot of faces. In a few days, she will try her first rabbit hopping event at the Children's Hospital and become another "official" bunny hopper.
